The PHK Professional Hunter hunting knife, produced by the Swedish company FK, is a professional fixed-blade knife designed with a strong focus on practicality and safety in real hunting scenarios. It offers exceptional hardness and toughness, making it capable of handling virtually all outdoor tasks. The design is minimalist in appearance, yet clearly performance-driven.
Since the mid-1980s, FK has focused on meeting the survival needs of air force pilots. The F1 is known as the Swedish Air Force pilot’s knife, but it can also be used as a hunting tool.
Shortly thereafter, FK introduced the PHK hunting knife—this very model.
Blade and Construction:
The knife features a full-tang construction with a spine thickness of 5 mm, significantly enhancing strength and operational stability. The blade measures 12 cm in length, longer than that of a standard hunting knife, and is made from 3G laminated steel with a Rockwell hardness of up to 62 HRC, balancing sharpness with long-term durability. The upswept tip and pronounced belly are optimized for cutting, skinning, and other hunting tasks.
Handle and Safety Design:
The handle is made from Thermorun material, with a slightly raised center that conforms to ergonomic principles. A finger groove in front of the guard improves grip security, and a lanyard hole is integrated at the rear. The guard effectively prevents the hand from sliding forward onto the blade during wet or slippery use, enhancing overall safety.
Weight and Portability:
The knife weighs 199 g, offering a lightweight design that reduces fatigue during extended use. The sheath is equipped with a Zytel insert, with an optional custom leather sheath available, providing both blade protection and convenient carry.
Use and Maintenance:
As a fixed-blade knife, both the blade and handle are easy to clean thoroughly, making it well suited for quick post-hunt maintenance and helping to prevent residue buildup.
