The tomahawk head is made from 80CrV2 high chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, a material commonly used for aircraft drive shafts as well as tank and bulldozer track pins. It offers excellent fatigue resistance, wear resistance, and impact resistance, and the one-piece construction further enhances its overall strength.
A selective heat treatment process achieves an ideal balance between hardness and toughness. One side of the axe features a sharpened primary cutting edge designed for breaching and chopping tasks, with the edge area specially reinforced for greater impact power.
The lower beard section of the main edge is also sharpened, allowing it to hook and pull after penetrating the target, increasing the size of the resulting damage.
On the opposite side, the reinforced spike is shaped like a bird’s beak. Like an eagle’s claw, it can easily penetrate a target, and in terms of localized destructive force, it exceeds that of the primary cutting edge.
